Starting Over On The Inside
For Chaplains, Non-Profits, Churches, Correctional Facilities, and Volunteers
Our mission is to equip inmates with biblical principles and life skills to prepare them for successful re-entry and lower recidivism rates. We aim to bring inmates to Christ and prepare them for successful re-entry with their families and communities.
Starting Over on the Inside is a program that focuses on learning from failure and the ability to overcome it and succeed. For over thirty years, the original Starting Over Workshop has helped over 8,000 people who have experienced life-changing setbacks learn how to start over and experience healing, hope, and purpose.
Since its launch in the Spring of 2021, Starting Over has been implemented in thirteen Colorado correctional facilities with over 1,500 graduates, several of whom have become followers of Christ.
The program is provided primarily on-site through video and is available to over 25,000 inmates on tablets in 15 states. Over the summer of 2024, there have been over 5,300 course completions.
We train chaplains, volunteers, and inmates to run the program within each facility to reach more men and women. One of the unique aspects of Starting Over is that it draws inmates who do not typically attend chapel services or Bible studies, making it a great resource for spreading the gospel.
When you launch Starting Over on the Inside, you will receive all the necessary resources and we will be with you every step of the way to help ensure your success. Those resources include:
– 8 sessions on DVD (also available online)
– Short video excerpts for promoting your workshop
– Facilitator applications for volunteers and inmates
– Facilitator discussion questions for all eight sessions
– Facilitator training and ground rules for volunteers and inmates (including online group or individual facilitator training)
– 5 Participant booklets and pdf. workbook to print at your discretion
– Participant and facilitator evaluations
– Program Checklist
– Initial phone consultation and ongoing support via phone or online.
