What Keeps You From Peace?

peace3

We all want and need peace, but it’s not so easy.  We all have things that we can shout out that are our enemies to peace. Perhaps it’s our job, finances, illness or a person?

What’s Yours? Is it emails, Face Book posts, loud obnoxious cell phone conversations in a restaurant, incessant barking dogs, what is it for you?

All of us have something that can keep us from peace. Maybe it is unresolved issues, loud alarms, self- consumed people, info overload, or relational conflicts?  Someone told me, “If I could just get rid of people everything would be fine.”

There are enemies to our peace that we are unaware of.  Maybe our enemy is fear of our present or future or we…

Worry
When we worry we attempt to fit people and situations into our agenda. We think that when we do we are in control or we…

Consume
Many have convinced themselves that they can buy their peace. If I can just get that or this, that new outfit, different hairstyle, the newer or nicer car or house?  Although our intentions might good we might even think we can bring peace to others by what we buy for them or us…

Deny reality
We tell ourselves that we don’t worry or control people or can’t afford to consume. We don’t have any enemies to peace we just don’t live in the real world or we are…

Angry
We can miss peace when we are constantly filled with anger.

Maybe you are losing the war with peace? If you keep on doing what you’ve been doing you’ll keep getting what you’ve been getting or you can pursue God’s way to experience peace. Maybe you need to admit that these are your enemies of peace.

Join us next time as we discover how we can experience God’s peace by making six choices.
